Every wildfire starts small.🔥Rain contains wildfires within 10 minutes of ignition using a network of autonomous aircraft permanently installed throughout high risk regions. We are fire sprinklers for the forest. 🌧️

We are looking for a skilled mechanic to improve, modify, maintain, and repair our prototype autonomous firefighting aircraft. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them while aiming for maximum reliability and functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance of aircraft systems, including:
• Rapid problem solving on mechanical systems 
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
• Conduct maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) to maintain functionality and longevity
• Implement modifications to the engine, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Keep maintenance and modification records up-to-date and accurate
• Perform pre- and post-flight inspections
• Tow, taxi and perform run ups in accordance with applicable standards and procedures
• Ensure equipment, tools and shop premises are maintained in a clean and orderly manner

Basic Qualifications:

• Proven experience upgrading, modifying and maintaining internal combustion engines. 
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electrical components and systems
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• High competency with hand and power tools
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner in a fast-paced team environment
• Consistently demonstrates high attention to detail

Ideal Qualifications:

• Familiarity with large displacement two-stroke engines
• Fabrication experience, including welding and/or sheet metal
• Experience with fabrication methods such as: manual milling, lathe, balancing rotating assemblies, and modifying wire harnesses and pinning/crimping connectors

Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
